Sir Keir Starmer plans to press allies to provide Ukraine with further long-range missiles to target Russian targets during a meeting in Britain on this Friday.

The prime minister plans to receive Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky alongside what's known as "group of committed partners", including more than 20 of supporting nations who have committed to grant the Ukrainian government defense assurances once hostilities pause is negotiated.

Ukraine's president has been pleading for an extended period for additional advanced missile technology from the West, a move that Russia has cautions would intensify the hostilities.

The Ukrainian president is coming from Belgium, where he held talks with European representatives on Thursday pursuing financial support.

"The single figure involved in this conflict who refuses to halt the conflict is Vladimir Putin," Starmer remarked.

Britain's leader will also reveal that a hundred extra air defense systems will be supplied to Ukraine sooner than scheduled, as specified in a £1.6bn deal reached between Britain and Ukraine in last spring.

Diplomatic Momentum

Zelensky arrives after important international achievements this week: Donald Trump's decision to enact additional restrictions against Russia, and European countries deciding to finance Ukraine's financial gap.

Britain's leader is seeking to continue the momentum by increasing the leverage on the Kremlin to pursue an end to the war.

Britain's leader will urge delegates to increase the delivery of extended-range systems following a successful attack on a chemical plant in Bryansk, the Russian Federation, using Britain-delivered Storm Shadow missiles.

"Additionally, his horrific attacks on young children in a preschool recently demonstrate that perfectly obvious," he added.

Two children were among no fewer than seven fatally wounded in multiple enemy assaults on Ukraine, which targeted a nursery in the important metropolitan area the eastern city.

Financial Discussions

Sir Keir will consult partner nations on how to remove Russia's petroleum resources off the global market.

They will furthermore consider employing frozen Russian assets to supply Kyiv with monetary support, although the proposal experienced divided opinions and jurisdictional challenges at the Brussels summit on the previous day.

The EU stopped short of approving a plan to use up to €140bn in seized Russian resources to economically support the Ukrainian economy.

However, the leaders decided to assist with the country's "economic requirements" for the upcoming biennium.

The US also revealed restrictions on recently against the Russian major oil companies, Rosneft Oil and Lukoil, as element of actions to apply monetary leverage on Moscow to enter hostility discussions.

Moscow began its major offensive of Ukraine in February 2022. It currently occupies about 20% of Ukraine's soil, encompassing the southern region Russia annexed in the year 2014.
